GOOD SHEPHERD VESTRY TIMES
July 2015
Welcome to the third edition of the Vestry Times; a once-a-month news blast designed to keep you updated on the workings of your Vestry. Here are the highlights for June.
As you may remember from last month, our next capital campaign project is repaving the parking lot and driveway. We are pleased to report that the parish applied for and has received a grant of more than $3,500 from the Church Assistance Endowment Fund (CAEF) to help fund this project. (We received a grant from CAEF last year that helped us to replace the windows in our office and education wing.
Your Junior Warden George Gray is working on receiving bids for the repaving project now and we should have enough money received in Capital Campaign contributions to undertake this project yet this summer. Please stay tuned on the timing; when the work is being done, we will not be able to drive on the new surface for 2-to-3 days, so access to the buildings and grounds will be limited. Of course we will schedule this so as not to interfere with our Sunday worship, but Mother Nature will have something to say about when we can get this work done!
We are currently attempting to fill the Vestry seat recently vacated by Todd Eller, who has decided to leave Good Shepherd. If you are interested in being on Vestry or have questions about Vestry duties, please contact Senior Warden Lori Fisher, Rev. Pamela or Deacon Susan. According to our bylaws, the Vestry consists of nine lay members serving staggered three-year terms. As we enter the second half of 2015, we ask that parishioners give strong consideration to offering their service on Vestry for the 2016-2018 term. Let us know if you are interested!
As always, if you have any questions about these matters or others, don’t hesitate to contact anyVestry member, Rev. Pamela, or Deacon Susan.
