Music

Adult Choir

All adults are welcome! Our adult choir currently meets on Thursday nights at 7PM for rehearsal, and warms up before the service at 9:30AM on Sundays. We sing most Sundays from September through May, for special services, and occasionally during the summer. We’d love to have you join our group; no audition necessary.

Handbell Choir

Our bell choir adds to our services through the ministry of bell music. This group generally meets twice a month on Saturdays from September to May and plays once a month for worship. Contact the music director if you are interested in this group.

Youth Choir

This group rehearses occasionally during Christian Formation hour or during youth group meetings. The youth choir sings once or twice each semester in worship and occasionally for other events. All youth grades 4 and up are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Vocal and Instrumental Soloists

The congregation enjoys the sharing of these gifts. Contact the music director for more information.

Christian Education

Our church’s mission is to share a place of fellowship where our hearts meet God’s light. In our adult class, we strive to better understand God’s illuminating path in our lives through studies that reach our hearts and guide our minds closer to God. Via a rotating schedule, we do this through focus on books of the Bible, the exploration of books or chapters by thought-provoking Christian authors and in-depth evaluation of various aspects of our Christian worship and faith.

Our preschool, grade school, and our junior high/ high school students engage in the same process with age-appropriate materials through guidance by dedicated and caring adult leadership.

The Church of the Good Shepherd Youth Group .. Youth in the Gospel Sheep and the Shepherds classes are invited to participate in the youth group that meets the second Sunday of the Month from 5 – 7 PM

Altar Guild

These dedicated individuals help to create the lovely atmosphere of worship by attending to the preparation of the worshiping space. Their attention to a rich visual and aesthetically pleasing experience is seen in the faces of our worshipers. We are grateful to all who assist in the formal implementation of our sacristy.

Lay Readers/Chalice Bearers

Lay reading/Chalice bearing is a special ministry within the worship service. These talented volunteers assist the worship by reading the scripture lessons to and psalms with our congregation and assisting in the administration of Holy Communion by serving the consecrated wine. We provide training annually to those who assist us in this important ministry.

Food Pantry

We collect food each month to donate to Trinity Episcopal Church Food Pantry. All are asked to participate in providing the less fortunate in our community with contributions. Donations are taken to the Food Bank regularly, and volunteers are always welcome to assist with the delivery of the food.

Reading is Fundamental

A special adult volunteer group visits with and reads to children on a regular basis at the juvenile detention centers of St. Louis. On a regular basis, books are bought by the program and given to the residents of the detention centers. Additional volunteers are always sought and valued.

Ushers/Greeters

Teams of laypersons offer their time and talents in the hospitality ministry of our church, assuring that all are welcome and feel the warm embrace of friendship as they approach our church and our services.

Coffee Hour

Our coffee hour is one of the church highlights! Our family-like atmosphere embraces the newcomer and member alike. Our home-baked snack makers are some of the BEST in St. Louis, and they always share their “sweet” nature in more ways than one! We not only invite, but also encourage the worshiper to join us after the Sunday service for some time of fellowship and friendship as we grow as a community caring for one another.

Bread Bakers Ministry

Bread is lovingly provided for the Eucharistic by members of the congregation. Volunteers for each Sunday sign up in advance.

Acolytes, crucifers and torchbearers

The younger members of our congregation are encouraged to participate in our services as acolytes who assist in the service of the table; crucifers, who carry the cross in processions; or torchbearers who process with candles.
